Pickle Post

Its dill pickle time boys and girls. After megan and I made all those pickles our awesome husbands told us they really wanted Dill pickles so....... being the domestic goddess that we are we picked more cucumbers and dill pickling we went.
Bad picture but you can see. These pickles were actually easier to make.

Dill Pickles
 
Ingredients :
11 cups water
5 cups white vinegar
1 cup canning salt
12lbs picking cucumbers, quartered or halved lenthwise
9 dill sprigs
18 garlic cloves
red pepper flakes
 
In a stockpot, bring the water, vinegar and salt to a boil.  Boil for 1- minutes.  Pack the cucumbers in quart jars to within
1/2 inch of top.  Place one dill head, two garlic cloves a sprinkles of pepper flakes.
Ladle hot mixture into hot quart jars, leaving 1/2 inch headspace.  Remove air bubbles, wipe rims and adjust lids.  Process for 15 minutes ina boiling water canner.
 
Makes 9 quarts
